QMy daughter has been diagnosed with general anxiety disorder. I'm confused....?

I'm confused about the medication. She is in college and wants to take Celexa . I read the possible side effects and , frankly , are unpleasant . I'm glad she's going for counseling, but do not want to start taking this medicine unless you are at home, where I can keep an eye for potential suicidal thoughts or possible risks of bipolar episodes listed as possible side effects ( or symptoms you have now ) . These side effects are so rare that I should not worry ? I do not want to not feel less overwhelmed and getting better --- but OMG , I have fear for her . Anyone have any idea about this medicine?
