  • 3Undergraduate and Postgraduate whats the difference?

Ok this may just be one of my many blond moments , but I'm really struggling with this. I'm looking at the courses of the Open University, I studied in the care provided with the intention of gaining qualifications while learning to work instead of being a " student " in the stereotypical sense . I just finished NVQ Level 3 CCLD and now I want to get a BA ( Hons ) but now I want to go to Psychology as my intention from the beginning was to become a child psychologist . I looked at the open university and speaks undergraduate and post graduate and points at levels 1 , 2 and 3 , and I'm totally confused as I was waiting for my NVQ would be included in my BA as previous work , so it would not to work as hard in the BA not because I'm lazy I have been doing childcare for almost four years , so it's not that. Anyway my question really is ... It is an undergraduate my degree ? What graduate courses to continue more like going to a professional field such as psychology ? And if I were to get a degree in psychology would this be enough to get a job as a psychologist or if I have to do a postgraduate course ?

  • 5Help with counselling psychology essay question (undergraduate)?

The question - Critically evaluate the effectiveness of a counseling method (multi - modal therapy , psychodrama , gestalt , etc. ) when applied within the model specialized Helper Egan . I understand the critical evaluation , which is the last part of the Egan model 'm struggling with - should explain how it could apply to Egan when I define or use the evaluation to apply to Egan ? Or just evaluate the parts of the theory that is applied directly to the model specialized Helper ? I'm not sure how the model is relevant to the assessment ! Any ideas would be great, thanks :)

  • 6Postgraduate work with a masters degree in Mental Health Counseling?

Hello , I am an undergraduate psychology student seeking to apply the Mental Health programs for counseling for next fall for my masters . I know that , in order to obtain the license , after completing the 60 credits must complete 3000 hours of supervised graduate work in clinical settings . This may be a ridiculous question ... but are these 3,000 hours paid normally? I would hope so, because it is a complete full-time job , but is supervised and before receiving a license . I think it would be very difficult to balance , in addition to work for a living ( depending on how long it takes to complete the 3000 hours? ) Thanks in advance for any response . On a side note , for anyone who knows , how plausible / common is going to a Ph.D. or Psy.D. program in clinical psychology with time after earning a Master of Mental Health Counseling ? Thank you !

  • 11Medical School question? Junior in college..looking at my options?

Hi all , sorry to bore you , but I need input . I am young and getting my degree in neuroscience while minoring in Gerontology . I have an average of 3.45 with a considerable amount of volunteer work under my belt , I've been a research assistant in two different studies of two different profs . I'm thinking about graduate school for final acceptance in a clinical psychology program , but I always wonder if the medical school is a better fit for me . I also believe that the field of mental health is not profitable ( Besides being a psychiatrist ) as much as it should. I would also enjoy a more patient contact investigation , and that the field is a logical choice ( Going to medical school ) . I would intend to be a psychiatrist , despite the different rotations could help me in my decision . I've been weighing the pros and cons of both , anyone has any advice for me ? By the way , I have understood that it would raise my GPA a bit , and once I retake a class I did in embarrassingly early in my degree. Thanks for your thoughts .
