Hello , I have an average of 3.79 , much research and work experience and strong letters of recommendation . It also has strong personal statement according to the teachers who reviewed. • 6Should I apply to grad schools wanting a minimum GRE score of 1200? My GRE score is 1170?

Some of the schools on my list has 1200 as the minimum , but I have a 1170 on my first try . I have a 3.8 GPA overall and ( have ) a 4.0 for my last two years of college when I graduate . I am also in two different honor societies for each of my major ( English and Psychology ) . Should I consider applying these schools even though my GRE score is slightly lower than the minimum ? I know it hurt to try, but I would cut rates unnecessary applications if they are to pull out my application because I have the minimum score.

  • 8Can I get into Grad School with a good GPA and low GRE score?

I will apply to MFT master's programs in the coming months . I'll have a degree in Psychology , an average of 3.78 degree , good references , 2 internship field experience , internships two research assistants , and research I presented at a conference . However, I have taken two practice tests GRE and obtained the same score , both verbal and quantitative sections each time (380 quant , verbal 450) that are very low . Still I have two weeks before taking the actual test in which you are studying like crazy , but I want to know is if I have the opportunity to enter graduate school with such low status GRE scores . My good GPA and experience to help off-set , or too low ? Any help is appreciated !

  • 9Could my GRE score jeopardize my acceptance to grad school in psyc?

I took the GRE general test a month ago , and got a combined total of 940 and 3.5 part test . I have a 340 for the verbal portion , and a 600 for the math portion . The reason I verbal score was low is because English is not my mother tongue (I was born in the U.S. but raised in Mexico for nearly 20 years ) , so I was not really expecting to get a high score. I'm a psych major , and planning to go to graduate school after graduating from college . I'm not going to a clinical psychology program graduate not because it is competitive , but because I do not see myself doing clinical work . I 'm leaning more towards the neurosciences . I have a 3.8 GPA , and doing research in a lab (yet I have two years of college left) . Could this low GRE score jeopardize my acceptance to graduate school ? PS I 'm taking back at least to raise my math score = )

  • 10NYU? Do I even stand a chance?

Hi all, I just started the college process and I am desperately in love with NYU. I would like nothing more than to go to this university, and I'm thinking of applying for Fall 2013. though, I wonder if you still have chances to climb .. Last semester I spent four months in New York doing a semester program that is basically for the sake of teaching of teaching, not a degree. We spent four months exploring the city and ourselves reading a text. In that sense, I learned more about myself in just four months than in the last sixteen years. I have acquired skills and self-confidence. During the summer before moving to New York I spent a month doing a field action in Paris. That was full of intense work days 9-5 in scenes and monologues, as well as learning about how to deal with directors, etc. .. My grades: UW GPA: 3.88 W GPA: 4.05 I have a whole year of freshman two terms I have two A-'s, and an A + the first term, and all A is the second term And half my program I have two A, A-2 and B + 's (but these three are honors classes) This term I'm getting an A + and A, an Honors A (Honours) and a B +. This summer I'm taking a college credit course (Introduction to Politics) and a guitar course at one of the UC in California Next year I'm taking AP Biology Advanced, Advanced Painting, AP Statistics, Psychology / Sociology, Government / Economics and Composition AP (English) Right now I have a 1790 on my SAT but I took them and I think I did a little better I volunteered as a lifeguard assistant for two months a couple of summers ago and worked from 8:30 to 4:30 during the week as well as a camp counselor in the field I've been going since I was 10. Do I have a chance of being accepted? If there is something I have to focus on, please let me know! (PS I apply early decision or regular?)
