PMDD is a severe, disabling form of PMS. In PMDD, the main symptoms are mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, tension, and persistent anger or irritability. These severe symptoms lead to problems with relationships and carrying out normal activities. Women with PMDD usually also have physical symptoms, such as headache, joint and muscle pain, lack of energy, bloating and breast tenderness. The symptoms occur during the two weeks before her period and go away when bleeding begins. For me, two–three weeks a month everyday, for the last nine months, I've been suffering from PMS symptoms consisting of forehead headaches, body pain, sensitivity to touch, nausea and motion sickness. I’m 32. I think it’s hormonal. I would like to know of any herbal remedies that anyone has. I currently take Evening Primrose and I’m going to try Kava. I tried Prozac, but it made me feel worse. Your personal story and ideas to ease suffering would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I'm very worried about my sister. She has been battling a serious depression for over a month now. On top of that, she has been battling the swine flu since last Friday and has barely been eating and basically sleeps all day, unwilling to move. Today, to make things worse, she got her period and is suffering from cramps as well as an overly sensitive state where she keeps crying. Could this combination lead to severe consequences? She refuses to visit the hospital.
Symptoms: Inability to rest/sleep much at all (consistently for months before October) Inability to rest/sleep well (still consistent since at least July) Extreme Fatigue (lately, for the past 3 weeks) Headaches (constant dull/achy and occasionally sharp) Sensitivity to temperature changes and light Back aches (bad for the past few weeks) I jump back and forth between: Being hungry and wanting to eat all the time... to Not being hungry and wanting to eat ever Yellow Urine (not a UTI but I have had several in the past) Constipation Pain while pooping (occasionally - and it usually is when I am more stressed) Blood while pooping (it's bright/ same as above + under stress) Cramps in the stomach (but I usually don't get those much) Neck and back aches (I say more because it's constant and occasionally very painful) Pain in my hands Pain in my joints Chills, numbness, pins and needles (not constantly but it does happen often) I feel sick in the mornings (headaches, nauseous)... I'm not pregnant I have been much more irritable lately. More angry, sad, depressed, stressed about whatever comes my way. I've cried more than usual. Problems concentrating Mood swings Sudden severe mood swings that I myself just don't understand -- Has being on a birth control pill done this to any of you? I'm assuming it's something I should look into. I've tried taking vitamins, eating better, drinking more water/juice, walking for exercise, I rarely take any medication besides my birth control (I think I'm allergic to IBprofin, advil, motrin, all of those) so I only take Aleeve (if I have to) and anything else if I absolutely have to.
has anyone got Polycystic Ovaries and how are you managing it with all the symptoms,(ie)weight gain excessive hair growth? i found out i have it and i wanted to know if anyone has any good tips to help deal with it and the symptoms, all the doctor says was to eat more healthy and no sugar at all.
I was on Paxil for years and have successfully cut down to almost 0mg after a very slow weaning off process. The last 2 months I have been fine usually but have noticed EXTREME PMS symptoms I have never had before. I quit my job last month but they convinced me to stay and want to quit again now. I feel nauseous and shaky (definitely not pregnant). How long after I get my period do the symptoms subside (instantly? hours? couple of days?). I am just worried the anxiety I am feeling during PMS will be the catalyst for another depressive episode. Anyone have experience?
I'm only 13 and I had my period three months straight and then it stopped. It has stopped for 4 months now. I have been noticing some signs though that I've heard happen before you start. -Dry Mouth -Headache -Mood swings -Small, short lasting cramps -Sore boobs. This has all happened before except dry mouth and sore boobs but I never had my period. Could this be ittt? I just wanna get it over with before summer...
I'd like to hear of other women's personal experience with Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome. I've looked it up online and found a lot of information, and some info I've found simply denies its existance. I've experienced a plethora of problems since having my tubes tied and I want to know how 'common' this truly is. (Severe depression, heavy periods, nightmarish PMS symptoms that I never experienced before.) My doctor didn't warn me about PTLS before my tubes were tied (I had SEVERE complications with my past two pregnancies, one resulting in miscarriage, and a tubal was basically my only option, so I guess it really wouldn't have made much of a difference)... Please, ladies... tell me about your life post-tubal ligation... Thanks in advance.
I know its kinda personal but I feel like my period symptoms aren't normal. I am really dizzy on my period I get contraction like cramps my breast are usually sore for two weeks, I'm nauseous the whole 7 days idk if its normal . and also my bowels are extremely terrible I have diarrhea all seven days
I was put on HRT at the age of 42 due to severe symptoms of menopause... irregular periods, mood swings, depression, crawling skin, hot flashes.. yep, I had em all. So I was on HRT for approx 6 years and the last few times I went for my checkup and to get the script renewed the doctors at the clinic I go to were not even checking my blood pressure? So I decided to ask the next time.. I saw a new doctor and told him my concerns... he was horrified and did a complete workup.. blood pressure, blood tests etc.. I asked what would happen if I stopped taking them.. he said lets see... cant hurt me.. Well, I feel fantastic... granted I got a period 4 weeks after stopping, but it only lasted 4 days and I havent had one since.. 3 weeks (my periods used to be every 15 days..YUK). I havent had too many flushes, and I dont feel cranky any more (I always felt angry), the only thing that I have that is bugging me is itchy knees.. don't laugh.. every night my legs itch so much! How are you?
Ive had nausea since september 06 i have been admitted to hospital and have had xrays, ultrasounds and numerous blood tests but they all came back normal. The Dr put it down to anxiety but i feel i dont have it at all. im a happy go lucky person and im sure i dont suffer from depression or anything like that. Im definately NOT pregnant ive had pregnancy tests they are negative and i had a blood preg test negative too would it be a hormone imbalance?? im only 22 and i did have a miscarriage back in early september 06 would it be hormones getting back to normal and does anyone have the same as me and know any symptoms of hormone imbalances... PLEASE HELP...
It's has the lowest level of estrogen. I would still like to be on a pill but I'm worried that none of them will work now cuz if this one doesn't, the others probably wont. opinions?
I keep hearing it but I don't know what it is?
What is it? and when is it suppose to start? like how many days or weeks before my period? I'm pretty sure I have it, but not entirely
I am turning 17 August 11. The past couple months, my period has been coming a week later every month, before my period which ended a week or two ago, I had small bits of blood in my discharge, a small bright red streak. Then a black/brown/purple thing came out, and it resembled the tissue released during a period. I also had a sharp pain in my abdomen around the time it came out, it caused me to double over. My cramps during my period were also unusually strong and prolonged, so I ended up sleeping to get through them. My abdomen was still slightly sore/funny feeling and bloated after the pain ceased. Yesterday the bleeding occured very lightly, giving my discharge a slightly red/orange color.. then today.. I'm having more bleeding in my discharge, kind of like the flow of a minor period, and it's a bit browner than before. I have also had other symptoms over the past year or two, but the bleeding is new. I've also have severe symptoms resembling manic depression or bipolar disorder, and headaches off and on. I talked to my mom about the bleeding and she is taking me to the doctor after tomorrow, but she slightly suspects it to be endrometriosis, because she had it and it runs on her side and my dad's side a little. She also had all of her reproductive organs removed because of unusual cells found resembling pre-cancerous cells. I just want your opinion, obviously I'm going to a doctor soon, but I want to get your impression on what it may be.
I'm sorry if this was long to read. I just want opinions from other people, preferably medical workers. When I was 11 1/2, two years before I started menstruation, I would get monthly cramps so bad that I couldn't even stand up. I had to use hot packs for my abdomen. My mom would call doctors for advice over the phone when I first started getting them. After starting my period, I would still get bad cramps that Midol wouldn't touch. They dulled down after about a year and when I was about 15, I had no idea when my next period would be. It could start three weeks after having a very heavy, very long period. Or I could go almost 3 months before getting an other one. They could start at any moment in that time frame. My doctor just said I had to deal with it. Junior year of high school was the worst. The pain got so bad that I would struggle to stay in my chair at school. It wouldn't be just before my period, it would be through the whole thing. All 10-14 days. I changed doctors when I was 17 and the beginning of senior year, I asked my doctor about going on the pill for regulation. She agreed that it would help and said that it should help in preventing my cramps from being so bad. It has helped a lot with regulation. But now that I've been on the pill for 2 1/2 years, the cramps are getting bad again. I have never had any sort of exam for my problem. I haven't had a pelvic exam, breast exam, or pap. My boyfriend, whom I've been with 3 years, is very worried and said I need to go i and see doctors more. I don't like going because 1: I don't want to end up on a dozen meds and feel like my body needs pills to function. 2: I don't want to sound like a complainer or worrier. And 3: I don't think anything is going to change. I have been reading and trying to find the answer for my condition. There are other symptoms as well that I have and I think endometriosis is possible but I don't want to think it's something serious when it really isn't. I don't think it's PID because I've had it since I was 11. Here are my symptoms. Every one of them is a symptom of endometriosis. I don't know what else it could be. dysmenorrhea almost constant pain in my abdomen ranging from dull to severe dysuria painful intercourse - depending on how deep he goes long, heavy, irregular periods (while not on the pill) what looks like "chunks" of blood while menstruating migraines (since I was 6) depression anxiety sleep problems bowel problems (either can't go or can't stop) Now that I've listed all these symptoms, I feel like my body is totally messed up. But I swear, I do have a normal life and a job. I know that endometriosis is genetic. One of my aunts had it and it was bad. She miscarried for years and ended up having a hysterectomy. I've heard of other family members having problems like this, too. I made an appointment with an ob/gyn and will discuss this with them. I just want someone to put my mind at ease for now because I have a while to wait for my appointment. Is this an easy thing to diagnose? I don't want any hateful or judgmental comments.
Im 15 And i was overweight. then i entered high school and i was so shy i didn't go to lunch instead i went to the library. so basically i would skip lunch, but when i got home i would eat double. i continued doing this for 3 months and lost 40 pounds! then i lost my period for 2 months and started getting scared so i started eating normal again. (no skipping anymore) and i started losing my hair. i get bruises really easy.and i haven't gained ANY weight even though i already have 3 months eating NORMAL as before when i was overweight. why is this? am i anemic!? PLEASE help im so scared. (my period did come back but the other symptoms still occur) ** i also started eating vitamins C, E, and zinc two months nothing happens.
I'm 21. I've always had irregular periods. I was late in starting my period. My period can be either light to heavy, heavy to light, just heavy or just light. It usually lasts 7 days. I have Anemia but I don't take anything for it. I did at one point have a Thyroid problem but I don't anymore. My mom had Endometriosis and Fibroid Tumors. She had to have a Hysterectomy. Her mom also had a problem with her period as well. My sister also has painful periods. When I get cramps they are so severe that I get dizzy, lightheaded, nauseous and I've even passed out. When they are that severe I have begged my mom to take me to the ER but she wouldn't do it. I have gone to my Dr. and she did a Pelvic Exam but didn't find anything. I also had an Ultra Sound done but they didn't find anything. I was put on 2 different Birth Controls but they didn't help at all I am going to start the Depo-Provera shot. I am also a Diabetic. I have been since I was 3 1/2. I also have a Panic Disorder and Depression for which I take Zoloft. I do plan on contacting my OB/GYN but nobody will take me seriously about this and idk what else to do. When I get cramps I do everything to try and make them go away. I take hot baths, use a heating pad, take Midol or Ibuprofen, do light exercise and the Fetal position but nothing seems to help. I sometimes pass out before I get any relief. I do have some of the symptoms of Endometriosis and Uterine Fibroids. So with that being said my questions are 1. What should I do when I get my extremely severe cramps? 2. What should I tell my OB/GYN? 3. If I get cramps that make me feel like I'm going to pass out should I go to the ER? 4. Is passing out from cramps normal? 5. What should I do in general? 6. Is it time to go to The Hospital? Please help. This is important. If you need to know anything else just ask. Thanks.
How do I feel better about myself? I have moderate-severe acne, that goes away for a few weeks every few months. I don't know what's up with that. Anyways, when it gets really bad, I just cry and I feel so ugly! I want to be able to walk around like all of my friends without makeup on and still feel beautiful... I've used everything! Including the dermatologist, and birth control. I eat alright, and only drink green tea and water. I take flaxseed oil capsules every day, and right now, I'm currently only using organic, non-oil makeup... I've given up on trying to fix my acne problem (i'm 16) and I just want to feel beautiful...
I was taken off depo about 3 months ago because i had constant spotting and irregular periods and it seems that the spotting has continued now that i'm on yazz(an oral birth control) and just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and if so what they did about it or how long it lasted.
